In Italy, there are some associations with the mission to fulfil collective needs by means of preventive social intervention to avoid social exclusion and to promote social and job reintegration. These organizations are enterprises but they are non-profit organizations.
These organizations are so called "social economy enterprises" (in Italian: "imprese sociali")

2) What does "ONLUS" mean?

Italian Law calls ONLUS (Organizzaioni Non lucrative di Utilita Sociale) all non-profit organizations: NGO, associations of volunteers, "social economy" enterprises and also organizations that work for collective needs.

3) Where does KOINOS work?

KOINOS manages social services in its own town (Molfetta – Italy) as well as in the surrounding towns. Besides it co-operates with other national and international agents especially in the field of social training.
